Chuck Swanson

Chuck Swanson is a member of the LBC Board of Managers. Mr. Swanson is the Vice President, Real Estate, for the Victoria-based British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (bcIMC). Designing and initiating a real estate investment program in 1991, he and his staff of seven have grown the bcIMC real estate portfolio to approximately C$9 billion, plus additional international investments. Mr. Swanson has a broad background across several disciplines including U.S. military service, recruiting, law, and investments. His twenty-six years experience in finance and investments has covered: economic and credit analysis; money market and bond trading; stock, bond, and mortgage portfolio management; private placement lending; strategic investment management; and, most recently, global real estate investing. Mr. Swanson holds degrees from Washington State University (B.S. in Psychology), the University of Alberta (B.A. in Communication and M.B.A.), and from the University of Calgary (LL.B.). He has been a member of the Alberta Bar since 1988.
